Newell and Deena Collins bring over 9 years experience as Realtors serving the Tri-State area. Their career in real estate began as they made the difficult decision to pull up roots, leaving family and friends behind in Crystal River Florida to seek a simpler life style in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Deena was born and raised in Crystal River and Newell attended high school and college in Atlanta, Georgia. They moved to Murphy, NC in 2001 from Crystal River, Florida where Newell enjoyed 23 years as a successful businessman in the maritime industry and Deena had her own successful career in the medical industry. She began her career as a nurse but spent the last ten years in organization development and risk management with the nation's largest provider of comprehensive home health and related services.
To most they had the perfect American life style but yearned for a simpler way of life with changing seasons, and mountains and woods to explore. When Deena and Newell are not sharing their mountain dreams with clients at the office they are out living that dream boating on the crystal clear water of Lake Hiawassee or exploring waterfalls on the pristine wilderness of Lake Appalachia. They enjoy hiking through the lush Appalachian Mountains, quiet picnics by a small creek or capturing the sights of the many spectacular mountain vistas as they hike the secluded mountain trails.
The end of each new day often finds them on their deck watching the mountain sunset, the sky ablaze with color, mountain ranges that change colors with the seasons and wildlife everywhere to enjoy as they move about in their natural habitat.
